In Ford E4OD and 4R100 applications, the OE pump gears often become worn, allowing pressure and volume to drop. This results in problems such as low line pressure, repeat converter failure, pump noise and fault codes related to pressure loss. Sonnax drop-in pump gear set 36438A-03 features precision-machined and matched inner and outer pump gears to restore full pump capacity in affected units. No machining is required.

Note

Prior to 1995, Ford E4OD pump castings were designated as E9 or F1 and had 11 lobes on outer gear. Those castings suffered from low pump output and were superceded in 1995 with F5 and in 1998 with F8 castings, containing 10 lobes on outer gear. An E4OD E9 or F1 casting should be replaced with an F5 or F8 casting. Sonnax pump gear set 36438A-03 is designed for use in F5 and F8 castings only.
